Seems my identity has been stolen. And the tried to use it to buy $300 worth of stuff at a WalMart in Louisiana.
So now I have to wait 7 - 10 business days to get a new card and figure out what accounts are getting auto-payed from that card... fun times. Just what I wanted to do as I start the weekend.
Now I just have to get to the bank before it closes tomorrow so I have some cash to get me through the weekend and pay a million dollars to fill up my car.

Thankfully the card was declined and the fraud department called me because of suspicious circumstances... I'm glad I hadn't deposited my paycheck yet, or else it might have gone through!

I got an email awhile back confirming that I had changed my email address for a credit card, I hadn't (this was late on a Sunday night) quick version, someone was trying to use the card (they charged $1.97 for a chocolate place back east. I caught it within minutes and got it fixed, but what a pain! Good luck and sorry to see your license plate blog die, I got a lot of enjoyment out of it whike ie was around. Have a great life!

ReplyDeletedaughters bank acct was hacked into by some Lousiana people a few months ago...gas station and convenience store before the bank realized...hey...she isnt in Louisiana!!
ReplyDeleteNo way! This happened to me too.. excpet they were trying to use $800 and sadly it would NOT have been in there. Chris and I had a good laugh when we heard that someone tried to get that much from our account. It happened to us at the same time as you too! Nuts!
